On this eight day of April 1818 before me the subscribed one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the County of Niagara personally appears Henry Adamy aged sixty two years to me known an and resident in the Town of Buffalo in said county of Niagara who being by me first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the provision made by the late act of Congress entitled “an act to provide for certain person engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War” that he the said Henry Adamy enlisted in the month of November or December 1776 into one Capt. Huston’s company (soon after commanded by Capt. Cornelius T. Johnson in Col. Peter Gansvoort’s regiment being the third regiment in the New York Line of Continental Troops, that the time of his enlistment was during the war and that the place at which he enlisted was Saratoga in the State of New York that he continued to serve as soldier in the said company in the service of the United States until the 8th of June 1783 when he was honorably discharged from the service at Middleburgh in the state of New York by Gen’l Washington commander in chief that he was in the siege of Fort Stanwix and in Genl. Sullivan’s expedition and at the siege of Yorktown, and that he is in very reduced circumstances and stands in need of the assistance of his country for support, that the discharge he obtained was burnt in his house in 1789 and that he has no other evidence now in his [?] said possession. On the eighth day of June 1820 personally appeared in open court viz in the Court of Common Pleas in and for said county the same being constituted a court of record by the constitution and laws of said State, Henry Adamy aged sixty five years resident in said County who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath declare that he served in the Revolutionary War as follows—That in the fall of the year 1776 he enlisted in Capt. Johnsons company in Col. Peter Gansevoorts Regiment of New York troops to serve during the war—and did serve in said Regiment for some years when on the reduction of the New York Regiment he was transferred to the Regiment commanded by Col. VanSchaick where he continued to serve until the end of the war and was discharged at New Windsor.
That on the 24th day of April 1818 he made a declaration of his said services in order to obtain a pension authorized by law and accordingly he has since obtained a certificate numbered 3026 of his having been placed on the pension roll of the New York Agency.
And I do solemnly swear that I has a resident citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have not since that time by gift sale or in any manner disposed of my property or any part thereof with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an act of Congress entitled “An act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War passed on the 18th March 1818 and that I have not nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities contracts, or debts due to me nor have I any income other than what is contained in the schedule hereto annexed and by me subscribed.
