Pension Application for John Albright

S.46365
Corporal, Capt. Hamtramack, NY Line
For the purpose of obtaining the benefit of an act for the relief of certain surviving officers and soldier of the army of the revolution approved on the 15th May 1828, I John Albright of Homer in the County of Cortland in the State of New York, do hereby declare that I enlisted in the Continental line of the Army of the revolution for and during the war and continued in its service until its termination at which period I was a Corporal in Captain Hamtrammock’s Company in the Second regiment of the New York line—That I was discharged on the 8th June 1783 at Snake Hill near Newburgh—which discharge is herewith transmitted—I received some of the notes on papers—which I think was called a pickering or piece note which was given for back pay as I understood it—but which is now lost—I Always understood that I was entitled to eighty dollars under a resolution of Congress of the 15th May 1778—
But I do not recollect receiving any certificate for it unless it was contained on the notes or papers above mentioned, nor do I recollect that any such certificate was given to any one of our company although it was said that all or nearly all were enlisted for, and served during the war.==
And I further declare that I was not on the 15th day of March 1828 on the pension list of the United States.  (Signed) John Albright
Sworn this 16th June 1828 before me.  Homer Gillet Com. D.
