            On this seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four, personally appeared in open court being a court of Common Pleas in and for the said County being a court of record proceeding according to the course of Common Laws a Jurisdiction unlimited in point of amount David Austin aged seventy years or there abouts resident in the Sullivan township in the said district and county who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath declare that he served in the Revolutionary War for three years, that he inlisted for three years on the 25th day of November in the year of our Lord      776 in Duchess County in the State of New York in the company commanded by Captain Abraham Swartout of the Regiment commanded by Colonel Peter Gansevoort in the line of the State of New York on the Continental Establishment that he continued to serve in the said Corps in the service of the United States until the twenty fifty day of November AD 1779 and that on the 21st day of April 1818 he made a declaration before Ira Kelbum, Esq, a Judge of this court and afterward on the 10th day of December AD 1819 he made another Declaration before Samuel W. Morris Esquire likewise a Judge of said Court.  And I do solemnly swear that I was a resident Citizen of the United States on the eighteenth day of March 1818 and that I have not since that time by gift sale or in any manner disposed of my property or any part thereof with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an Act of Congress entitled and act to provide for certain persons engaged in the Land and Naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War passed on the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have not nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities contracts of debts due to me nor have I any income other than what is contained in the schedule hereto annexed and by me subscribed.  (Signed) David Austin.
