Pension Application for George Edmonds

County of Brant
             George Edmonds of the Township of Windham in the County of Norfolk of the Province of Canada (now eighty one years old), maketh oath and saith, that he has frequently heard his Father George Edmonds late of Saratoga County State of New York deceased, say that he enlisted and served during the Revolutionary War; that he served as a Boatman for the Army upon the Mohawk and Eenesee River, and Woods Creek, and this deponent further saith, that from the conversation of his said late father’s that he this deponent is of the opinion that he belonged to Colonel Bradstreet on Bradstreet’s command.  (Signed) George Edmonds
            Sworn before me at [Lewistown?] in the County of Brant the 11th day of October 1860.  Eliakim Malcolm, Justice of the Peace & Commissioner in [?[

Province of Canada, County of Brant to wit—
            John Summer of the Township of Windham in the County of Norfolk of the Province of Canada, maketh Oath and saith that he this deponent is a nephew of George Edmonds, of the Township of Windham in the County of Norfolk and said province, that he is well acquainted with the said Goerge Edmonds, who is a son of George Edmonds late of Saratoga County State of New York.  This deponent further saith that he has frequently heard his mother say that her Father, the said late George Edmond served in the Revolution war.  (Signed) John Summer

Simcoe P.O. Norfolk—Oct 18th 1860
            I received your letter of the 6th of June and I was surprised to find that George Edmonds name was not found on the record of the enlisted Continental NY army—and in hopes that it yet be proved to your satisfaction—I hereby send you the following affidavits, and from Col. Broadstreet return you may find some further information be kind enough to reply.  Yours Respectfully, George Edmonds
