Bounty Land Application for Daniel Schoonmaker or Scoonmaker

                        Susannah Yeomans being duly sworn doth depose and say that she was the wife of Daniel Schoonmaker deceased, formerly a soldier in the New York Line of the Army of the Revolution, that the said Daniel Schoonmaker departed this life about the year 1794.  That at the time of his decease he resided in Hackensack in the county of Bergen State of New Jersey and that he left two children him surviving a son and daughter of the names of Jacob & Rachel Schoonmaker. That the said Sarah is now the only surviving child, the said Jacob having departed this life about twelve years since learning no place that Rachel is married to one John Perry of the Town of Granby County of Oswego State of New York, where now reside—that she the deponent has since married Jeremiah Yeomans her present husband and that they both reside in the Township of Bergen, Bergen County New Jersey, that she is now in her sixty first year. And further this deponent saith not.  (signed) Susannah Yeomans.

            I Rachel Perry, daughter and heir at Law, to Daniel Schoonmaker deceased, do, upon oath, testify and declare that to the best of my knowledge and belief, Daniel Schoonmaker aforesaid about or in the year 1777 entered or enlisted into the service of the United States for the term of “During the War”: and that he served in Regiment No. [blank] of the New York Line commanded by Colonel VanCourtland; and that he continued in the service aforesaid until the close of the war, when he was regularly discharged from the Second Regimen of the New York Line, commanded by Colonel Phillip Van Courtland.  I further declare that my father the aforesaid Daniel Schoonmaker departed this life about thirty eight years ago and that he resided in the town of Hackensack, Bergen county of New Jersey.
            I have never received a Warrant for the Bounty Land promised to Daniel Schoonmaker aforesaid, on the part of the United States nor do I believe he has ever received it.
            Therefore know all men by these presents that I Rachel Perry aforesaid do hereby constitute and appoint Reuben Baldwin of Greenville in the State of New York to be my true and lawful Attorney for me and in my name, to demand and receive fromtheSecretary of War of the United Sates a Warrant for the quantity of Land due to me as the only heir as aforesaid.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of September 1831.  (Signed with her mark)  Rachel Perry

            Personally appeared before me Amory House a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid Rachel Perry subscribed to the above declaration who acknowledge the power of Attorney thereto subjoined to be her free act and deed; and likewise made solemn oath to the truth of the foregoing declaration.
