Pension Application for Alexander Scott

            On this 4th day of October 1832 personally appeared before me Samuel Smith Esqr one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in and for Sullivan County, Alexander Scott a resident of the Town of Mamakating in the County of Sullivan and State of New York aged sixty nine years of age the 3rd day of December last past who being first duly sworn according to law, doth make on his oath the following declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7th 1832.
            That he entered the service of the United States under the following officers, and served as herein stated, he resided in the Town of Handover, Ulster County now Town of Montgomery, Orange County, State of New York and in the year of 1777 went into the service under Captain Matcham and continued to serve at Nichol’s Point two weeks and again under Captain Luteback on the frontiers at Peepack and Hunk in Warwasink, Ulster County and continued for said service one month and a half in 1780 under Captain Joshua Drake, Col. Machin’s Regiment on the Northern frontier along the Mohawk River at Fort Stanwick and other places along said river and remained in said service four months and that he has no documentary evidence in his power.
            He hereby relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present and declares that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of any State.  (Signed) Alexander Scott
