Declaration: In order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress, Passed June 7, 1832.

            On the thirty first day of July 1832, personally appeared in open court, before the Justices of the Justices court of the City of Albany, now sitting, Conrad Sparbeck a resident of the Town of Knox, formerly of Guilderland in the County of Albany and State of New York aged, on the May last sixty seven years, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath, make the following declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress, passed June 7, 1832.  That he entered the service of the United States, under the following named officers, and served as herein stated.  That in the early part of the Revolutionary War, he enlisted in Captain Harrison’s Company in Col. Willett's Regiment and served for the term of nine months and until he was discharged, after having faithfully served for the said period, and he refers to the testimony herein endorsed for proof of his said services.
            He hereby relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present, and declares that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of any state.  (Signed with his mark)  Conradt Sparbeck

Albany Justices Court SS. 
            Be it know that on this 29th day of November 1834 personally appeared before the Justice’s Court of the City of Albany (the same being a court of record) Conradt Sparbeck of the Town of Knox, in the County of Albany, an applicant for a pension under the act of Congress of June 7, 1832, who being duly sworn in open court deposeth & saith as follows, that I was 68 years old on the 9th of May last—That some time in the early part of the Revolutionary War but the year I cannot recollect, I enlisted in Capt. Harriosn’s Company in Col. Willett's Regiment of New York State troops to serve for the term of nine months—I enlisted in the spring, and my term of service expired about the first of January thereafter—I served out the full term of my enlistments in said company as a private, I enlisted in the Town of Watervliet—There was a class of six or seven of us that enlisted at the same time.
            I joined the regiment in Albany—We went up the Mohawk River part  of our company was stationed for some time at a place called Fort Timmerman in Herkimer County under Lieut. William Wilson—who is now dead—The rest of the company was stationed at Fort Walradt about ten miles from Stone Arabia under Capt. Harrison—a part of the time I was stationed at Fort Herkimer & Fort Plain—I was in a battle between our troops under Col. Willett and the British under Col. Walter Butler (a one eyed man) & Major Ross at Johnstown—I was slightly wounded in the head—Our troops drove back the British & Indians—
            We took about 36 prisoners—six of them were called Green Coats—they were Butler’s Rangers—after the battle we went back to our old quarters at Timmerman’s -- & afterwards went to Fort Plain, where I remained till I was discharged—Lieut. Van Orden was a Lieutenant of our Company—after the war—said Lieut. VanOrden called on me & offered me three [ground?] dollars, a French Cro[?] worth at that time nine shilling for the pay that was coming to me—I did not know how much was coming to me & I consented to take what he offered me—which he paid.
            I recollect that this was a Sunday—I also recollect that Col. Hochstraper was our Muster Master, and mustered me when I joined Col. Willett's regiment at Albany as above stated—I have never learned to write.  (Signed with his mark)  Conradt Sparbeck
