            On this fifth day of September 1832 personally appeared in open court before the court of General Sessions of the near in and for said county now sitting Jehiel Wisner a minister of the gospel and resident in the Town of NewFane in said County aged Sixty nine years who being first duly sworn doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress passed June 7, 1832.
            That he entered the service of the United States under the following named officers and served as herein stated namely in September 1779 he volunteered while living in the Town of Warwick where he was born Orange County & State of New York and joined Captain David McCambles company (1) of Militia as a volunteer Thomas Blane was Lieutenant and David Wisner brother of applicant was Ensign of said company was attached to Colonel John Hathornes regiment and marched to FishKill in the State of New York and there served as such volunteer for one month.
            The next year 1780, in February while residing in Mamahawkin County of Monmoth [Monmouth] and State of New Jersey applicant was drafted to serve six months in the war in the militia, and joined Captain Coopers Company Douglass was the Lieutenant and marched to Colts Neck after joining Colonel Flemings Regiment at Monmoth – was stationed at Colts Neck where he served out his said term of six months when he was discharged. In the month of October 1780 while applicant was residing at Mamahawkin aforesaid he volunteered and joined Captain John Mynes company of Militia Norgross Lieutenant and marched to Little egg-Harbour and served one month at that place under Colonel John Shrievs.
            In the month of December, according to the applicants best knowledge 1780 applicant volunteered and joined again Captain Mynes company of Militia and marched to Waden river County of Burlington and State of New Jersey—Thinks Major Budd (2) commanded the regiment to which he was attached—general Lacy (3) was the commandant of the post-and applicant served one month as such volunteer at said Waden river and was discharged.
            In 1781 Applicant again volunteered and joined Captain Coopers Company Douglass Lieutenant & Brooks Ensign of said company of militia and marched with said company to Boss river and was attached to Colonel Shrievs Regiment—Thinks General Firman (4) commanded the Brigade-applicant joined said company in April and served as such volunteer six months & upwards being stationed during the time at Boss river.
            He hereby relinquishes every claim what ever to a pension or annuity except the present, and declares that his name is not on the pension roll of any agency of any state—
            And applicant further says that he has no written or documentary evidence to prove or corroborate the services above stated and that he knows of no person by which he can prove the same except David Wisner and Samuel Wisner whose affidavits are hereunto annexed. (Signed) Jehiel Wisner.

            [Another paper indicates his birthday was June 16, 1762, Warwick N.Y. In 1838 he was in Hillsdale Co. Michigan, having moved to that state to be with children.]
